Bayou Interfaith Unified Clergy
Bayou Interfaith Unified Clergy (BIUC) meets generally bi-monthly and is assisted by BISCO staffers, Donald Bogen Jr - a faith leader in the Church of God in Christ.
Building relationships between BIUC and local communities, especially neighborhoods at high risk for poverty, crime and other social vulnerabilities.
“Community Resource Fair”--local groups set up booths to present community members with information about available resources
BISCO Gulf Coast Interfaith Prayer Service - (see separate section for details on this service) Twenty congregations came together to join congregations throughout the nation who prayed for victims of the Oil Disaster.
Community Faith Walks - Pastors and BISCO leaders walked in high crime neighborhoods to listen to the concerns of folks in the community and to pray with them. They shared bibles and lists of resources for spirtual guidance for any who were interested. These walks were done on Saturday mornings with much success.
